I love how she brings together a thoughtful plan and creates a mix of new and vintage pieces giving each space character. I’ve worked with Jonah and Petra on three projects. They get to know their client’s tastes - the dislikes and the preferences - and gracefully transform the spaces into something that beautifully and tastefully suits the client. Some of their designs are ingenious (for one project they created a window treatment mount that is just amazing), and their bespoke textiles are gorgeous.

The projects I’ve worked on with MK Workshop had generous budgets, but Jonah and Petra were very contentious of spending a client’s money wisely - only splurging when it’s truly worth it, and keeping the rest of the design well within the budget.

I’ve had an incredible experience working with Jonah from MK Workshop. Once my husband and I moved into our forever home in October of 2021, we quickly realized how out of depth we were in designing our home from scratch. Jonah has a great eye, is incredibly fun to work with, very generous with his time and resources including creating custom items, and advocates for his clients – but most importantly he is really receptive to any personal desires/wishes that we wanted incorporated, even when they were super vague, perhaps inconsistent style-wise, or even just flat out random. I also really appreciated the finishing touches – specifically for me, styling shelving with our existing tchotchkes and personal items to somehow look fresh and new (we’ve had these items for years and they’ve never looked this cohesive) but also so personal.

I cannot speak more highly of Jonah Kilday and the entire MK Workshop team! I am hiring them again to design my mountain resort home!

I initially hired him to decorate my NYC apartment with store bought items that I assumed were more within my budget. I was so impressed from the jumpstart with his vision, project management, and professionalism, that I decided to allow him to overhaul the entire space – from renovation to interior design to art curation and even custom furniture! Jonah is efficient, works quickly, solves problems, has a knack for turning any space into a “bespoke home.” I love all of my custom pieces so much that I’ve decided to hire them to design my new mountain escape home outside of the city.

I’m so impressed with their versatility and ability to design for different types of living spaces. They do not disappoint!!

We worked with Petra to renovate our home in Austin this year while living in California and she made the whole project so easy for us!

Petra was very thorough, professional and so knowledgeable. She guided us every step of the way and understood what our vision and needs were while keeping our budget in mind! She took care of every single detail while we were in California and was very prompt in taking care of any issues and responding to our questions.

And it’s not just us, our contractor has mentioned it to us multiple times how easy it was to work with Petra and how thorough she was. She was also so patient with helping us find some furniture pieces, finishes and paint choices!

We have moved into our new home now and absolutely love everything about our house. Our house was built in the 80’s and now it’s a home that is Instagram worthy!

MK Workshop is incredible. I’ve been working with Jonah for over a year now and he has made decorating my new space stress-free (and honestly, enjoyable). His decorative sensibilities are amazing and he has been able to pull off the (very unspecific) vision that I had for the space. Jonah is thorough. He is diligent. He is responsive. Jonah did a phenomenal job picking pieces for my condo! Jonah was communicative throughout the process and managed vendors who had serious problems getting things to me. Jonah has great taste, and was patient when I asked to see more options for a piece once or twice. Highly recommend.

Jonah and Petra are amazing. A great collaborative experience where they were respectful of our opinions and price points. We were moving in the middle of winter and Jonah took care of finding us a contractor and supervising when we could not be there ourselves. We love all of our furniture and rugs. MK Workshop is always responsive and if there are any issues with deliveries they manage all the communication and resolutions with the vendors. Fantastic company!

Petra was great to work with. She really took the time to understand my style and helped me express myself in my two bathroom remodels. Her attention to detail was phenomenal. And it was all done remotely due to COVID. She has a great gift to envision space. Plus she is budget conscious. HIGHLY recommend her and would hire her in a heartbeat.
